A CGM system may use a compatible smartphone, a dedicated receiver or a defined combination. Seeing a Bluetooth feature on a product page does not establish compatibility with every phone, app version, sharing service or market.
Check the full data path
| Layer | Question to answer |
|---|---|
| Sensor to display | Which phone or receiver is supported by the current model instructions? |
| App availability | Which publisher and store listing apply in the intended country? |
| Permissions and alerts | Which local settings are required for the exact app and operating system? |
| Sharing | Who can view data, which accounts are needed and which connection is required? |
| Reports | Can the intended clinic receive or export the required report? |
| Interruption | What happens to readings and alerts when a connection is unavailable? |
Local readings and remote sharing are different functions
Do not assume that a working sensor connection means a remote follower can see data. Sharing can introduce accounts, internet access, permissions and service availability beyond the sensor-to-phone link. Conversely, a remote-sharing problem does not by itself identify a failed sensor.
Before an operating-system update or phone replacement, check the manufacturer’s current compatibility information. A minimum operating-system version quoted on an older product page is not a complete list of supported phones.
Prepare a useful support record
- Exact sensor model and intended market version.
- Phone model, operating-system version, app publisher and version.
- Exact error wording and time of the interruption.
- Which part failed: local display, alerts, sharing or report export.
- The supplier’s verified support channel; keep passwords and personal health records out of public messages.
